now the account that should have been closed on the 21st of oct when i went bankrupt is 2 grand overdrawn,

Your liability for what happens with that account ended when you went BR. ;)

Barclays can huff and puff, but do nothing.

even though theres been direct debits on the account from before i was bankrupt, and as i was told to leave the account alone completly, i did, (other than call and inform them i was BR) barclays have been blindly paying DD's dragging me even further into debt,

am i libel for those, cos they were "after" my bankruptcy?

thats what i need to know guys..

    Hi

We still get letters from Barclays now (OH went BK in July) We just send them straight to the OR and don't reply. No point letting them annoy you any more.

It's not your account any more. It's the OR's.

Legally you are not allowed to do anything with it.

The only bank account that you can keep and retain responsibility for through BR is one that the OR gives you permission to carry on using where nothing was owed on it. Like a basic account.

    bit more calm now!
  • Sorry to hijack, but got to say "Thanks" to Fatou for that fantastic letter template! OH went BR at beginning of Nov and is starting to get calls from a DCA re MBNA cc debt. Will definitely use that letter if they get nasty!
  • thought of something else..

while i was on the phone to the barclays guy, i demanded all direct debits be cancelled,

have i just cacked on myself here RE: leave the account completely alone?

    god i hope not :(

I can't imagine that causing any real problem. Seriously. ;)
