I think they'll put them up by 5%, just for a laugh, and to catch everyone by suprise.

None of the other measures that have been taken so far seem to have made the slightest bit of difference (other than slide us more deeply into the quag), so why not be brave and try the opposite? If it backfires, just drop them again, or rapidly inflate them but immediatetly slowly deflate them, or chop them into little bits and put them back together again, or reverse the polarity of the neutron flow, etc. After all, who cares about the BoE Base Rate anymore anyway!? Certainly not the banks!

I agree with lisyloo - think they'll definitely do something. It won't make any difference though - I'm getting more and more concerned about where we're heading. It is looking much worse than a recession to me.
Got to agree with you there. I`m on tentahooks about my job so the rate cut although will be welcomed isn`t my number 1 concern.0 -
