I'm thinking 1.5%.0

quite a varied opinion then....:D As Sceptic Peg predicts, House prices this week will be going up!.............................or down.0 -
I think post #9 and #11 are completely wrong.
I think the bank could surprise everyone with 1.5% like they did last time.
The economic figures coming out are dire and mortgage lending seems to be getting worse not better.0 -
I agree with lisyloo - think they'll definitely do something. It won't make any difference though - I'm getting more and more concerned about where we're heading. It is looking much worse than a recession to me.0

1.75% a likely move."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -
I think they'll go for a 1.5% cut this time - they waited too long before their first cuts and are now trying to catch up quickly.
Some people are saying it won't have much impact, but I think for people on variable rates which could now be saving between £100 and £500 a month on their mortgage then these people might be willing to start spending in the shops again which is what is needed.0 -
i dont think people have the confidence to spend. It'll need a lot of time before spending confidence is back.As Sceptic Peg predicts, House prices this week will be going up!.............................or down.0

The only (or one of) thing that will hold them not to go for something drastic is the pound getting hammered.0

whatever it is, it won't be as much of a surprise as last month's 1.5%
I think it will be around the 0.75 to 1.0 % mark
Although I just heard on the news that only 10 out of 69 mortgage lenders passed on the full rate cut last time round.
Glad we're on a BofE tracker.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
Balance 19th April '07 = minus £27,640
Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.0 -
