hi
need a little bit of advise. there is no gas safety certificate for our house. my partnre didnt realise that this is a must have!!!! worryingly i have just noticed earlier today that the carbon monoxide detecter thing that we have near the boiler has changed colour ever so slighly round the edges. we only put it up a month ago, so is this normal. the colour things are ment to be changed every 3 months so is slight colour change normal?
I will need to contact the landlord, but i want to make sure that i have all the information before asking for either a copy of the certificate or asking for someone to come and check the boiler.
thanks

The only infoprmation you need is that as a rented property with a gas supply & appliances, the LL is legally required to provide an annual gas safety certificate.
As you are concerned about the possibility of CO leakage, ensure this is carried out as a matter of extreme urgency. Get on the phone to the LL/LA now!"Now to trolling as a concept. .... thanks, have just dropped the landlord an email as they manage the property themselves. they are always quick at replying so will leave it till tomorrow afternoon before phoning if they havent got back to me by then.
am going to leave the window open overnight though so it should be ok although my bed is above the boiler so i think i might be sleeping in the spare room tonight
i dont think its the landlord's fault that we didnt get supplied the certificate, the letting agent seem to be useless and i beleive they told my parnter that he didnt need one and he didnt push the issue.Debt free 3 years early :j
