AMD Board with 4 Dimms

Am just posting around to see if anyone has had this problem or knows of a solution.
I recently bought another 1gb of ram, to make up 2g in my computer (4x512). It just won't work though, it won't even post.
I know the ram is ok. My current ram works fine, have tried it in a number of configurations. If I take it out and put in the new ram, that is the same and works fine. If I put everything in and use up all four slots it won't work.
I get random bios feedback, it varies, but for each instance no display or post.
- No beep, everything just powers up.
- One constant beep.
- Continuous beeps (long rather than short)
- The regular beep as if my machine was booting up ok?!
It's not PSU related, I've got a 530W Tagan and run the system with minimal hardware.
The motherbord (MSI K8N Neo2) has the latest bios update (v1.B).
Basically if I take two of the dimms out, it boots and works fine again. Put all four dimms in and it won't post. I've read on a few places this can be common with AMD boards, or at least some of the MSI ones.
Anyone got any ideas as I've just spent £65 on ram that I can't use.

What memory settings are you running, 4 sticks can be an issue with some nvidia chipsets (not just MSI - I had a K8N Neo4 SLI that ran perfectly) - if 1T drop it to 2T. There are loads of tips in relation to this particular board on xtremesystems
Some excellent stuff on there, if rather more techie than most.0 -
Ok I'll try that, although I think all of the memory settings are set to be detected or "auto", if you know what I mean. It is currently at 1T though."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0

1T has been the biggest problem across the board with the nvidia boards. Dropping to 2T with 2 gig of ram isn't a great problem though, you'll still get a boost in certain apps.0

You sir are a legend. Many thanks. It's all working now.
Actually looked into it a bit more, someone mentioned something about the A64's memory controller not being able to handle 2T with four dimms. Anyway, it works which is the important thing."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
