I want to buy some RAM for my laptop (an 3 years old ASUS) but I'm lost in specs: example:
Memory Speed: 667MHz
Form Factor: 200pin for Laptop Computers
Compatible With:
DDR2 PC2-4300 (533 MHz Bus Speed)
DDR2 PC2-5300 (667 MHz Bus Speed)
How do I find out what type will be good for my laprop? If I open it does it say something on the old RAM?

Go to the Crucial website and use their system scanner:

It's not infallible, but still pretty good at indicating what will work ok. If you buy from them they guarantee it will or your money back. Or you can probably get cheaper elsewhere but at a higher risk...0 -
Seconded - what he said

3 years old, id hazard a guess it woud be 333Mhz PC2700 DDRI - expensive in other words.
Fingers crossed its DDRII though.0 -

I used all the sources, I even opend it and looked inside (it has a bar on which it says PC2700 and one saying PC3200, but check the specs on the internet and it seems that it can't go more than 333Mhz and 1Gb maximum memory)
Ordered 2 of this from Amazon, hope it's ok:

I hope I'll see the improvement (£19 for both is not so bad, maybe I could sell the old ones on ebay with £ 2-3 and I'm done)0
