Passport Office

I sent my DD passport for renewal by special delivery on Friday 30th December 2006. Given that there was a bank holiday on Monday I was very surprised to take delivery of the passport by courier today.
It would have been received by passport office on Tues 3rd January, date of issue is 5th January and delivered 7th January.
I didn't pay any extra for the PO to check or for return delivery. Just the basic standard price.

Wow! That is good. I did pay the PO for checks and although mine was very fast, I don't think it was as fast as yours.0

I have always wondered why someone pays extra to have the PO check something that can be done yourself, as this is a money saving site I would have thought it makes sense to save the £7 ( i think it is) and do it yourself.
We have applied for a couple this year and had fast delivery and no problems saving £140 -

I didn't use this website when I did it, I needed it done quickly and I didn't want to send my only copy of my marriage certificate through the post.0
