Sound track to animations

Sorry if this question is a little bit dim! My eleven year old daughter loves to produce little animations from photoshop and has asked for a microphone to do voice overs to add to them. Any ideas which microphone/software would be needed and best suited to this purpose? Thanks in advance.

You should be able to plug most sorts of microphones into your soundcard, which should have a socket specifically for a microphone. You can get a cheapy microphone from Argos for £6 which should be ok. Software-wise, I'd recommend Audacity for recording (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). Mixing the audio with the animation is a bit more tricky - you can do it with Flash but Flash is expensive!
