I have a "cherished" number I want to sell. My question is, how much am I looking at to arrange transfer & a replacement number for my car.
Any help/advice would be gratefully received.

£80 to do a straight transfer from one vehicle to another or £120 if you need to put it on retention prior to having it assigned to your new car.0

Just noticed my registration document says my number is not transferrable (I think its because it starts L155 *** - & could be used to make a car look newer than it really is). So it's OK for DVLA to dream up numbers out of thin air & make VAST amounts of money, but as soon as joe public wants to make a few quid, they won't let you GRRRRRRWomen priests. Great. As far as I know only Q numbers are not transferable - with a prefix like L it can't be transferredto a car newer that that year model. Not transferrable just means you can't transfer the number you can only assign the right to hold it - ring the DVLA enquiries line - I got through to them last week in 2 minutes - very helpful they are.0
