Be sure to get Accidental Damage cover - home and away - on your House Contents insurance and if you're using it for work purposes be sure to declare that, too. :money:
PS. Especially for you.
With AppleCare you can get three year's warranty.
You'd love a MacBook - even when using Windows. :happylove
Very amusing video.
Pretty sure i have accidental cover home and away on my contents insurance, will double check whether i have to add a laptop individually though. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I've had 3 Sony Vaio laptops and thoroughly recommend them. My present Vaio has a 300 GB hard drive, 2GB memory and I get internet speeds of around 10 MB with O2.
I dropped my first Vaio on the hearth and apart from a dented hinge on the lid, the PC kept on working regardless. If you have any problems specific to Vaio laptops, their online support and forums are excellent. They have helped me from time to time.
The only thing about Vaio's that I've found is that battery life deteriorates quite rapidly, I suppose at a similar rate to other laptops.
Good luck whichever model you decide.0 -
R runs natively on a Mac - it doesn't need Windows (nor its licence).
PS. Here's the Windows version of earlier posting - the requsite anti-malware alters it slightly.

I have a Mac and a Dell Laptop (home and office respectively) and you will find that even on a mac windows will run alot quicker than it will on an equivalent spec pc!
both my laptops have 4gb ram, 250gig hdds and core2duo processors, dvd-rw etc and the mac poohs on the dell! i know this is common thought but its true and people just have to believe it.
plus with a mac you do not have to worry about viruses, etc. and all universities support macs. i used mine throughout both my degrees.
for maths programs and CADs i always found the mac easier and if you dont like the lack of right click buy a nice little logitech mouse like i did!
hope this helps.Scrimping and saving!0 -
