Please help - Need a laptop but not sure where to start!

I'm not quite a technophobe, I know my way around a computer, but when it comes ot specifications or what to look for in a laptop, I'm clueless.

I'm not looking for the cheapest option, Im getting some financial assistance to purchase it, and would rather get one I can use for the life of my uni course (so ideally til 2012), but obviously don't want to pay over the odds.

So I was wondering if someone could maybe point me in the right direction, or tell me if there's anything in particular I should be looking for please?

I predominantly want it for uni work (I have maths related software that requires 256mb RAM) and I'm a bit of a World of Warcraft addict!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Personally, my first port of call would https://www.dmxdimension.com and see what the best deals are on Dells at the moment.
It's my problem, it's my problem

And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

You're going to be needing a new battery about 18 months in so make sure it's a brand name and not an E! Systems or Advent which are notoriously hard to get cheap batteries for a couple of years later. 2GB of RAM would be nice but Vista can live with 1GB quite well. Try and avoid glossy screens.
