Best savings account for £35k

Having received my money back from Iceland on Monday, I have been searching for the best place to deposit it, to earn the best rate.
I would ideally like an account with no penalties for access, whilst giving a good return. The interest is to boost my monthly income, although at the moment it could accrue in the account.
Also if I could set the account up via the internet this would help, speed being an advantage, as at the moment the money is earning no interest and hasn't been for the last two months.
Does anyone know of a fixed rate account where I could deposit a lump sum, I know there are several savings accounts still available with good interest, but you have to deposit money each month, and this really isn't what I am looking for.

TIA

HBOS did have some products which would have fitted the bill, but you have missed the boat there by waiting too long. Just £50 would have reserved you a product which would have given you a fixed rate of at least 5% with the ability to add your ICESAVE money and to make up to four withdrawals. To get approaching what you want you'll have to split your money into one of the few decent fixed rate bonds that are still around and an instant access variable rate possibly with a bonus. Isofa's link gives you the former. For the latter possibly Tesco internet saver if you can afford to wait while they set it up or Yorksire Internet Saver if you want a cashcard.
  • This one looks to be very good:

    Investec High Five Account

It pays the average of the top five highest savings rates in the market (currently 6.16%). You have to give three months' notice for withdrawals, and the minimum deposit is £25k.

Not sure how long it takes to set up, though. I believe Northern Rock accounts are very quick to setup, and their e-saver rate is currently 5.15% (though the rate is "under review").
I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.
