    Hi JordanShannon,

Well done of achieving 'extremely heavy' pots, I think somewhere with interest would be the best place for them, let us know how much you've managed to save hey? and I'm sooooooo envious of your holiday next year, a cruise AND New York, it will be fantastic, are you hoping to do all the mega shopping spree stuff?

    Toodles.

I will i'll add it all up when it's full and post my record:D
I know it sounds too good to be true. My OH family is paying for it all:eek: Yeah although i've been told off on other threads because the legal limit for customs is £340 worth of goods....:p Me thinks it may be a bit more than that, I not really sure what to do about that except spend less i suppose:rotfl:

    Hi Gettingbetter,

thanks for your kind words, I think if I reach 250 pounds it will be amazing, lol.
I keep trying different ways to make it less painful, sticking with the Sealed Pot Challenge is definatley less painful than some, so it's all good.

Darn it, if I'd waited until your post you could have been my Twinnie and I would have more money in my purse (less in the Sealed Pot though). I'm in a different time zone to you though so it will be a case of when I'm on line and who that lucky person is rather than the 24 hour clock. It's my idea so it's my rules lol.

    Have a good one.

    Toodles.

  • Kerfuffle- Great idea, i think that would make me more determined to put money away:T:D
Gettingbetter -An entrance fee sounds like a good idea, will try that on my OH next time he comes over, or i could charge a 'donation' fee where they can give me from 1p upwards:p:rotfl:

Hey a holiday is a holiday, regardless of who is paying, and you're still saving for your spending money right.

Not sure about the 340 pounds worth of goods though, although from past experience I understood it to be 'brand new goods' so if it's something you've worn or used whilst in New York it's not classed as 'brand new' anymore so flies under the radar. Likewise, does 340 apply if you're going to try to claim the sales taxes back, in which case you would then (supposedly) have to pay VAT when you enter the UK again, in which case there is no point in claiming it back.

Maybe somebody with more experience will come along and offer some advice (and slap me down in the process).

The MAIN thing is, enjoy it, and don't worry about it until nearer the time.

I must take to inviting people over, i wonder if they will notice me turning them upside down and shaking them until all the loose change finds its way into our sofa:undecided:rotfl:

I think an entrance fee or donation would be better, at least you can look them in the eye when you're taking their money, :rotfl:

  • :rotfl: i hope that the brand new goods is true. Still long time to plan and more importantly save!!:D Me thinks the donation is better definitely :D
