Found some coins in my dirty jeans pockets when I was having a sort out this evening so in to the bottle it went.
Sadly for me my dad decided he needed to sort his change and pay it in so all his shiney 20 pees have been counted bagged and banked and none of them made their way in to my bottle, heyho will continue to work on the aquisition of his spare 5pees and coppers in the mean time.

A really warm welcome to the thread black cat, lovely to meet you! :D Enjoy yourself here and have great fun saving, it's amazing what you could do in 6 months! You'll find your very own number at the bottom of the list on post 2 of page 1. If you haven't already done so then read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll help you with any queries.

Hi tirlittan! It's been a long time, but great to see you! Do the best you can and try to walk away whenever tempted, though if you're on a tight budget, I can see it can be difficult. Good luck in doing well!

focus888, your goal (small or large) is all about what's best for you and want you wish to use it for. If you have your eye on a food processor then that's fine, save your spare cash and enjoy your purchase when you have enough. It's mostly about saving for Christmas, but we all have different needs, you go for yours and enjoy it!:D

Hi Mel and many congratulations on the birth of baby Kai!!!:A I think you're very wise with rethinking Disney, best to leave it til a time when it's more suitable for you and him. I've changed your target to £60, if you should change your mind just let me know as you're more than welcome. Enjoy that little one!

Hi stunty, it sounds as though your dear girl has been going through it quite a bit, hardly surprising either, but she has a great guy to love and support her! :kisses3:

Sleep well Jess, you obviously needed it.

Your poor Dad scuba, does he never realise?!

Stunty, welcome back. Sorry to hear about your FIL. (((big hugs))) for you & Mrs S.

Only had the odd bit of change out of my purse going in the pot this week. I don't seem to finding any road kill anymore:confused:. DS lost £5 running for the bus last week  so someone will have had a nice suprise finding that.

    Morning Shelley,
Any chance of the postcode of the area where your DS lost the £5, I can then use my sat nav to get to the place & scan around for it . Really though, it's nice to find it :D, but lousy to lose it , lets hope he's learnt a lesson ;)

    Good Morning everyone!

I want to join the sealed pot challenge too.

I won't set a target yet as I am going to work out my detailed budget tonight / this weekend.

But, to be honest, to have anything at all saved for Xmas would be a bonus!

I also need to think of a decent pressie for my partner's 30th (29th August). I have bought one small gift so far which was a mini 'morph' character on the keyring which I know he'll love :)

Any ideas for pressies that won't break the bank. It's his 30th so I obviously want to get something as nice as possible, but also affordable. He's a tech/internet geek if that helps.

Have a great day peeps! :)

  • Best presents are ones that have taken a lot of thought..and dont have to cost anything really. x

Why not spoil him for his birthday, make him his favourite meal, his favourite pudding, light candles, run a bath with bubbles, give him a massage and just really go out of your way to ... 'make his night' maybe even fulfil a fantasy or two? x

As for a present...well that would be you? Big bow round ya middle when he comes home... wine chilling, candles lit and smell of favourite meal cooking in the kitchen.... what more could he possibly want x

Yeah, I was thinking of doing something along those lines, but I would like to give him something that he can keep and look at in years to come and think 'ah yeah, my 30th! That was great :)"

He's also a bit...apprehensive....about turning 30 so anything really to make him smile.

Maybe I could make him something? Ohhh, maybe a collage of pics of us, his family, friends etc over the years. I did a similar thing for my Mum on her 60th and she loved it.

Or even, ahhhhh! Where's the lightbulb thingy for me to add??!! lol

I can get him a nice frame for a pic that his late grandfather painted. He displays it proudly in the living room but the frame is cheap and falling apart. I don't think the glass is even in there anymore.

I'm sure I can find a much better one for under €20 (now based in Holland).

Yes, that's it. Nice frame for the painting, spoil him rotten with food, candles etc etc and try and get a few english food / drink treats (I can get these next month as I will be in the UK for my brother's wedding).

wow you are so organised and even have a charity pot. great stuff. so you dont have a goal for any of them just saving as much as you can? :)

I think the only goal that has a known value is the holiday, the rest depends on what we find when we open them! We have chosen the charity, and will open this one sometime in December. The family treat depends a lot on how much the little pot delivers. So, yes I guess I just save save save and see what happens.

Today by the car park ticket machine I found one black shoe and a wine glass, possibly related but not exactly road kill!

So today we have a £2 coin headed for pot 3, and 20p for pot 2 and 50p for pot 1. As I ma having a family gathering at the weekend I will not be leaving the house so two non-spend days also equals two non pot feed days.
To those who are given much, much is expected

        £2025 in 2025 = £680.60
          Food Budget £180/9.30.
