Mellika, don't worry about how much or how quickly you put money in your pot, the main thing is that you SAVE when you can! I haven't put anything of significance in for a good while, that's life! ;) Well done on cutting your debts interest rate!....Well done Emmsie! :T It's so good when you finish a job and free your mind from it.....Good for you FFprincess! No one else wanted it anyway!:D ....At a girl Hales - treat as you would a ticking bomb - stand clear and never touch!!!;) Hiya LMM!!! ...Hey Kas, where's your mum these days? Remind her of the time of year and that all wrinkled english roses should be set to be bloomin lovely. :p

    Well done everyone, and remember:-

    Whether it's a penny or a lot,
if it's saved and in the pot,
    for a day in December,
you'll be glad that you remembered
to save every penny in your little sealed pot :T

Have a great week all, try to enjoy all you do and see the good side of it and for it.

Sue PS. For any new friends wishing to join us, please just ask and I'll be with you ASAP.

I was thinking of the first time I opened a savings pot as a child. I was 6 and had been saving a fraction of my lunch money each day for 9 months (I was MSE even back then). It was only a few cents a day but when I opened it I had over $15 and was able to buy a singing doll I had wanted for ages.

So funny now, thinking of all my savings going on a DOLL :rotfl: But it was what I wanted at the time and what made me happy ;)

Do you guys remember your 'first time' ?

PS: 6p gone in the pot :o

    Hi everyone,

£1.30 into my pot today....not a lot some might say, but let me tell you I have earned every penny. I decided to walk the 3 miles home from work :eek: and put my bus fare into sealed pot. Now I am absolutely knick-knacked.....but £1.30 better off. I probably couldn't have chosen a worse day, its really windy and its all uphill. Along the way I checked every bus stop.....nothing to be found, we must be very careful people in my neck of the woods, or else everybody is also on roadkill alert.!!

Right I'm off for a big cup of coffee and a sit down, I'm not promising to walk again tomorrow, it depends on the weather...(I'm praying for rain - snow- hail - thunder -)

  • It's my birthday today and I went shopping this morning - during my travels I got (no kidding!) £10 worth of £2 coins - I always seem to do well for them on Mondays for some reason :D

I had a load of change I had left over from a night at the pub on Saturday too so a LOT of change in the pot today!

Hi Mellika, I remember saving my pocket money to buy a Beswick china horse when I was a child. I've still got the horse, he's got two broken legs now, but I wouldn't part with him for anything:o
Nothing in the pot today, btw.
