Travel Republic changed our hotel 48hrs before hol

Hello,

about two weeks ago I booked a week's hol to Costa Brava, Santa Susanna, through Travel Republic, flying Weds (Dec 3).

This afternoon I got a call from Travel Republic saying the hotel we had booked is closing early for the winter and we have been allocated another one.

I've checked it out and it seems fine, but I have already booked airport transfers through Shuttle Direct.

Travel Republic say if there are any charges for amending our transfers or any extra to pay then they aren't liable as it wasn't booked through them.

I say they are as they changed the hotel we had booked.

Can anyone advise?

Have you contacted the shuttle to see if there are any charges.

Find out how far away your new hotel is from the other one, maybe you could persuade the shuttle bus to take you there if it is not far, or just take a taxi from the first hotel when you get there.

At least you are getting there, there is always a way around things,
I doubt whether Travel Republic can be held responsible as you didn't book the transfer through them.
  • Most schuttle companies will change the hotel etc free of charge, unless its very far away.

And you say it's travel republic who have changed your accommodation, they are in the hands of the supplier - so find out who they are, as they are a bit late telling Travel republic about the hotel closure (The info will be on your hotel voucher)

It isnt really travel republics fault in terms of your transfers, if they had of been booked through travel republic they would of sorted this out, they cant be responsible for you booking things on your own

Im sure they will change the transfer for you, what hotel have they put you in?

  • I've contacted Shuttle Direct who were really nice and didn't charge us for changing.

They had originally told me it would be five euros per person per trip, which wasn't a lot but when we spent ages finding a bargain holiday which we have saved and work hard to afford for it was a bit vexing.

    Thanks everyone.

We booked through Shuttle Direct as it was cheaper, we've been put in H Top Amaika in Calella instead of the Royal Sun in Santa Susanna.

  • yes I was pleased when I read the reviews on Trip Advisor.

I was just having a massive panic yesterday as TR rang just as I was heading out, and I wasn't due back in until 8pm so couldn't check the new hotel out and get back in touch with them until today.

Luckily all seems to have turned out well - just need to book airport parking, and OH needs to put another 14 hour shift (self-employed taxi driver, say no more)
