We have an old clock style timer (Randall 102) with two on and off periods per day on our boiler but although the clock part moves round so the time is correct the actual timer does not click in and we have to nudge it on manually until it clicks in - then it works - this is OK if we are at home but if we are out its a pain. The boiler is about 10 years old and is a Glowworm fuel saver mark II - it has the water thermostat built in and goes from 1 (cold) to 5 (very hot). The timer is wired in just below the boiler. Our CH radiators are controlled by thermostats on each radiator. Does anyone know what the problem is - how much it should cost to repair and as it is 10 years old are we likely to be able to get a replacement timer or alternative. I hope so because this week the telly has blew up, my washing machine died on me yesterday and my computer keeps crashing!!0

You should be able to get the timer itself changed.
