having used the template letters posted to request details of the initial loan agreement, and the step one letter to the bank regarding my claim, i have received a questionnaire back, asking for all the details specified in the initial letter.
i have 10 days to fill this in and return, is this right? or should i just refer back to initial letter? i believe this is a time wasting stategy.
to clarify, the questionnaire is asking why i believe the policy was missold, the loan account number, my address, salary and occupation at the time. Also my outgoings at the time, as well as my account and recollection of the meeting with the bank at the time (2005)
should i point out at this time that i asked for a £1000 loan, to be told i should need to take a £3000 loan, pay off my mastercard, and that if i didnt take the ppi policy my loan would be rejected.
please advise to the next step, the letter came in on saturday 29th nov

Hi there
I agree with our Marshallka here hun.
They use these questionaires as stalling tactics, so what Marshallka has advised I would do just that, good luck.;)
Please keep us posted........cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
i am glad i found this site, and it told me how to get the copies of the loan agreement to begin with, because as well as the timewasting questionnaire, the banks complaint dept also wants copies of the paperwork, from me! surely they can obtain this from the banks files? they were quick enough to send these detail to me when i used that famous line "i look forward to a response within 30 days or i shall seek advice from the financial ombudsman"0

They should have a copy of the agreement if it was settled within the last 6 years OR its still ongoing.
Just carry on your complaint. I have heard a couple of people in the same boat where they did not have records which is not right in the first place so they refunded on this basis alone.0 -

if i win this money back, it is in excess of £750! they added the ppi onto the initial loan amount, which meant i paid interest on the ppi as well as the loan. robbing gits! lol0 -

ok, i'll just send another letter. on the plus side, they did give me a stamped addressed envelope with which to return the questionnaire, so at least i got free postage!0

Hiya hun
Just to say still use your free postage envelope but take it to the post office for recorded delivery, this way it will still work out cheaper, less that a £1 and its guaranteed more than normal delivery to reach them, you can also check on the royal mail website as well "track and trace" to check when it reached them, good luck.;) I assume you are writing a letter to cover this instead of filling in the questionaire, so well worth recorded delivery just to know they have received your letter.;)

Here is the update to my claim and I'm looking for advice to take this further.
I received a letter yesterday telling me my claim was not upheld, and quoted excerpts from a telephone call but not the full conversation.
It fails to mention in this letter that the bank phoned me, to discuss my needs further to my initial inquiry in the branch where the disputed/misselling info was given to me.
The info they relate to in this letter is the follow up call to confirm that if I go the bank and sign papers, I will be given the loan.
The letter basically says that this is the banks final decision on the matter, and if I wish to take it further I have to go FOS, but if I have any questions I can contact the PPI reclaiming unit.
Should I ask for a full copy of the phone discussion, or go straight to Ombudsman?0 -
