Sound from PC mic

I have got a Karaoke program https://www.vanbasco.com but can't get sound to play from my pc mic, ie I get the sound from the program but none of my singing.

Anyone know if there is a trick to getting the mic to output direct to the speakers - I have tried many options ticking and unticking boxes in the volume properties and think I have failed to find the right combination so far.

Thanks for any help - need to start torturing the neighbours with our "singing" soon!

You should be able to do it from the sound properties, make sure mic is not muted in both playback and recording and volume is turned up. You might be better buying a better mic though standard ones for PC aren't brilliant.

Had tried that - I am using a better mic - £5 from e-bay but does the trick. I was missing ticking a box labelled MIC boost in the advanced properties, for some reason that is what made it work

Yes, you need to have MIC Boost checked in Microphone Advanced Options (in Sound/Volume Control) but you can't have Mic2 Select. Then un-mute your Mic and you can talk with it coming directly out of your speakers, whether your program is running or not.

I recommend you keep your Mic muted when not using it because otherwise you will get continuous (and annoying) interference through your speakers.
