So if lenders are willing to off-load their self certs and other dodgy looking mortgages at 50p in the pound; is it worth me writing a letter to my lender offering to redeem now at 60% of the outstanding balance....? :D

Most arent willing to take that kind of hit and are just holding onto their mortgage book. Edeus have offered some customers 15% off and waived penalties to leave . . . but nothing that drastic.

Besides you want to be careful as it could impact on your credit if it is marked as settlement for less than the contractual balance.

I just found out something from Webb Resolutions..

when the fixed rate period ends they will not offer me any new products bar the LIBOR plus 2.05%..
  • i have just had the same thing. Mortgage PLC sold my mortgage to webb resolutions and i have had nothing but trouble since. They are trying to reposess as they lost all my details and could not contact me over a maintainance issue. They went to court took out a warrent without my knowledge. Surely this is not legal?

They don't know the address of the house they want to repossess?

This is all very strange, as surely a mortgage has to be run by authorised institutions, otherwise any crook could buy a mortgage at a big discount and force a repossession.

I have just received the letter from Webb Resolution, regarding the take over of my account from GMAC. However, I did receive an account statement from GMAC, without a letter explaining why they have sent me a statement, then a day later I received another letter from GMAC saying that they are transferring my mortgage with not explanation.

So, in summary will any of you guys suggest I take to my heals if I have the opportunity to re-mortgage with another lender then I should get my mortgage away from Webb Resolution, since I am currently not tired up into any deals, and on the variable rate?
  • My Account was also sold from Mortgages Plc to Webb Resolutions. After reading the other posts here it makes sense of the way they act. We have a suspended order on our property and Webb applied for an eviction as soon as we got slightly behind with our arranged payments. We have always made the full payments within the month that they are due but they are demanding payment on the 1st of the month or they will apply for another eviction, I have explained that my wages are not always clear for the 1st, can they do this?. Although we are confident that if we go to court, the court would side with us as we always keep up arranged payments but we obviously incur the court charges each time. We never did recieve a letter from mortgages plc to even inform us that they had sold our mortgage!. All the time we have the suspended order we are being charged "account maintenance" fee's, are these enforceable?
  • hi, could someone please give me the number for webb resolution? cannot seem to find any number or indeed website for them online and worried about being repossesed. Thank you

I was in same boat as you, look on legal beagles website search ~Webb Resolutions and you will be surprised how much Webb are doing. Phone number is 08445791626. Webb are not registered with the FSA. Which means they cannot administrate your mortgage. Phone the FSA and ask about all this. I have a complaint in with the financial ombudsman about Webb at the min and also the FSA are investigating them. I was shocked to see from the land registry what webb bought my house for but I understand why they want me out they will make about 130k on my property. The list I got from land registry of all the propertys webb bought from Mortgages 1 plc is massive, pages long, no wonder they file for repossession at the first minute they can. I need all the help and people possible who are having trouble with webb to register a complaint with the ombudsman. It only takes a letter and these companies should not be allowed to get away with this kind of business causing so much grief on people. Any coments are much appreciated.

I have had the same problems as you and have now reported Webb Resolutions to the Financial Ombudsman and also to the FSA, Webb are not a member of the FSA so cannot administrate a mortgage or collect payments. If you are still having trouble with Webb please let us know as if I can get as many people with the exact same problems with Webb complain about there movements then hopefully something can be done about this kind of praying on people who are having some difficulty with there mortgage. The land registry gave me a list of names pages long who webb bought the rights to their mortgages on the same day as mine. The bought my mortgage for 100k and my property is worth 230k so all this bullying is well worth it to them. Would love to hear how you are getting on now with Webb.

If they were not authorised by the FSA then you couldnt use the FOS.
Webb are not a member of the FSA so cannot administrate a mortgage or collect payments.

It is not a club. You have to be regulated by the FSA and the Webb hold the necessary permissions via another company called Lapithus Servicing LLP

    What is your complaint?
