Presumably because their owners wanted a pup, but didnt think about the dy to day realities of owning a dog.

So many seem to be dumped as they go throught their teenage stage, when people seem to be surpried that they chew, act daft and generally are a bit hard work!

I think with others, people just get bored, or dont want the responsibility, or the cost. I cannot think how the owners of my dog, Badger, could have got rid of her, she is so loving and loyal.

I was also amazed when I found the two oldies that had clearly been dumped - in cold weather. How someone can have a dog for ten years, then chuck it out when its elderly and vulnerable is beyond me. (see p 5 for piccies of these two!) http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1207663

Exactly, its beyond comprehension isnt it. And the ones who are needing medical help. If their owners were in desperate financial straits they could apply for help or go to the Blue Cross - just to throw them out is so horrific, I cant imagine how they could do it.

Our Diggs, no way he could have strayed. He hangs on to your ankle when you take him out. If he goes on a big country run, he is continually looking backwards to make sure you are still around and he instantly comes to call.
