Detecting fraud with a Personal Rate 070xx Number

Each time I create a new account on a website I use a NEW personal rate (070xx) number. I do this to help avoid fraudulent companies.

If someone calls me on the number I immediately know it must be someone connected with one company. If I receive multiple calls from various companies calling the same personal number I then know something 'fishy' is going on.

This happened to me. In the space of a working day I received umpteen calls from various companies claiming I had enquired about their products/services. All the companies were ringing the same personal rate number that I have only ever given to one company!

I had intended terminating the number but found out that I was actually earning money from the 070xx number on every call! It seems that the company I get my personal rate numbers from has found a way around illegal revenue sharing on personal numbers!

By judicious re-routing of calls, I have avoided the harassment this company intended to cause me and turned it into a money-making venture instead! In total, I have made around £16 in one day!

KEEP THE PHONE CALLS COMING!
