DSLR Camera help/advice needed please

Have you looked at the Olympus range. They do live view and are a bit smaller than their Canon/Nikon rivals. As a D40 owner I would advise you to avoid them unless you can get a decent manual focus lens (which will cost a damn sight more than the camera!)0

Just as an additional afterthought, make sure you visit www.dpreview.com , especially the forums. It's great for beginners and novices alike, i've found it an invaluable resource.
There is also photoanswers , a relatively new UK forum which is associated with the Digital Photo and Practical Photography magazines. Lots of useful tutorials and help files.
Enjoy your new DSLR and have fun 0 0

I always suggest people visit, in order:
www.camerapricebuster.co.uk - for the best prices
www.dpreview.com (as per above) - best reviews
www.cameralabs.com - excellent reviews with videos
 www.steves-digicams.com - good reviews
As for forums (naturally this one is good, but there aren't many photographers here), I'd suggest the excellent and friendly forums at the Independent Photography Forum0
