Good first step jacbenmum...
Just a couple of quick questions, is the electricity £100 per month (if so, is there any reason it is so high), also the water rates of £66 per month seem very high.0 -
Thanks for replying, yes the electricity is £100.00 per month. as we were paying quarterly, then never paid it, and we now have to pay what we use, and what we owe them.
Same with the water bill, we never paid for a few months, as couldn't afford, and now have to pay this. This is only until January and then we will have a few months no payment till April.0 -
Is it worth you going out to work? You are paying more in childcare than you actually earn! You would be better off staying at home

I read many post's and know i should register with a payplan, but just cannot pluck up the courage to go ahead and do it.
Take a look at my signature, as difficult as it may seem it's really not that difficult to ask for help.
Believe me, once you make that initial call, your sleepless nights will be a thing of the past
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Mortgage................................ 648.45
Is this repayment or interest only?
Council tax............................. 107
If paying over 10 months, can you ask to pay it over 12?
Electricity............................. 100
Gas..................................... 40
Check the price comparison sites to see if you can get a better deal.
Water rates............................. 66.66
Are you on a meter? Do you have a hippo or similar in your cistern so you use less water?

No internet?
Groceries etc. ......................... 240
How many is this for? Have a look at the old style board for meal plans and recipies. Have you tried moving down a brand?
Car Insurance........................... 43.45
Again, i'd check the comparison sites (uswitch, moneysupermarket)
Childcare/nursery....................... 744
Do you get vouchers or anything towards this?
House value should be 125000?
You really can't afford to make the minimum payments to your creditors. What are you doing right now? I would definately suggest contacting payplan or CCCS - even just for a chat. You need to take action now and show them that you are making the effort to repay - even a token amount.
Edit: The mortgage, food and utility bills are priority debts. Everything else can wait. Make sure these are up to date before anything else. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Thanks for the reply
Childcare is so high, cos yet again, we have fallen behind with the fee's and now instead of the weekly fee's of £108, we now have to try and find £186.00. and beleive me that is not happening. we are now taking my son out and only having him in nursery just 1 day a week, to try and clear the debt.
I just feel so stupid and worthless that i have allowed myself to get into this mess, and just dont know where to begin with sorting it all out. I feel i have let myself down, but more importantly my 2 dear children, who i dont want to suffer from my stupidity.0 -
Mortgage is repayment, and we are on a fixed rate until 2010
Council tax will not allow us to pay it over 12 months, i have tried that, and we have missed last months payment, so they are now applying to court
Cannot move energy companies as owe to much to british gas
Again missed payments with water company, so have to pay this, to clear the debt
My partner is on the mobile phone, and he is on a contract
Internet / phone and tv is £20.00 per month,
Groceries is for 2 adults and 2 children, and this is at 60.00 per week, some weeks we can manage on £50.00
Car insurance i could have got £10.00 cheaper but have to pay a deposit intially of 2 months direct debit, so couldn't afford to move
I do get helop from child tax for the child care, but when that money comes in, i try and pay bills, The nursery manager is so kind, she is aware of my situation and is aware she will get paid,
Right now i am not getting by and it is now getting to me. I have just delivered over 2000 bt phone books for extra income, I already do onepoll, and looking verywhere to try and get another way of income.0 -
Everyone makes mistakes. It's human nature. You're trying to do something about it and you have made a good start. If you were either stupid or worthless, you wouldn't care so much for your children or even try to get yourself out of debt so no more talk like that. It's not allowed from now on.
We can give you some advice and support to help you along, but from what you have posted, you really should contact one of the free debt charities so that they can make a start on helping you deal with your creditors. They are not a high priority, but the sooner they know what is going on an what you can pay, the easier it will be.
Stay strong.
We're here for you when you need us.
Edit: The council tax is another priority debt so please deal with that before making any payments towards the loans or cards. They are quick off the mark to go to court and appoint bailiffs so this is definately a priority. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Can I suggest you do your soa again.
Put what you should be paying each month for council tax, water, childcare and electric and then put the arrears amounts into the debt bit.
Also put in the correct amount for the value of your house etc.
If you can't spread the council tax (I'd try asking again tho) have you thought about asking the water company to spread their bills over 12 months.
Also do put in the apr amounts of the debts. It maybe that you could apply for a 0% credit card and either balance transfer or pay off one of the arrears with it.
Good luck it can be done0 -
Thank you for you kind comments, it really does mean a lot. When i phone the debt charities will i need a list of all my debts?
Also my main worry is, my mortgate fixed rate is due up in 2010, so when we come to remortgage, will my being on a payplan, have a major inpact on us getting another mortgage.
I know me not paying or being late with all my credit cards, is having a really bad effect on my credit scoring at the moment, but really concerned that with price of houses now falling when i come to remortgage, i may not be able to get a mortgage, for what i owe. as i am on a payplan, and price of what house is worth is less than what i need.
Hope this makes sense0
