NI contributions

following a road traffic accident, I had to leave employment in Dec 2006, and claimed IB for one year, until DSS medical, where my appeal was rejected.
My only option was to claim JSA, but as I was physically unfit for work, was unable to claim this....
I contacted NI on Gateway www and they tell me I have paid sufficient contributions to qualify me for pension when I am 65....
is that it, do I need to contribute any more for NHS treatment..seems I am unable to claim any help from DSS as my husband is in full time employment.
It appears only benefit is that I now do not pay interest on savings in bank!!!
any advice welcome

I'm not sure what you mean really; perhaps you could expand?

Unless you come under one of the groups for whom exemption applies or your husband's income is low enough to get reduced costs then you won't get help with scripts/dental/glasses.

As long as it's >6 months since you were found fit, you can reclaim what is now ESA rather than IB if you still consider you're capable of work

you're still entitled to the same NHS treatment as anyone in employment who pays NI but earns too much to get 'free' treatment
