Hi
Just completed the itinerary for this trip - booked flights and car with Trailfinders and the accommodation direct with the hotels themselves e.g. Best Western.
Cheaper this way - thanks for the advice everyone.0 -
Fantastic opportune thread
I'm flying into San Francisco for just over three weeks in March/April (thanks to the BA sale) and had pencilled in seeing -
SF
Yosemite
Las Vegas
Grand Canyon
LA
Disney (the kids really want to go and I'd rather be there than France or Florida)
And possibly San Diego (which would also allow Legoland) or possibly head north from San Francisco as that seems well recommended...0 -

I am off to the west coast at the end of march. I originally booked a couple of hotels with best western and then discovered https://www.tripadvisor.com and read some very bad reviews so have since changed a couple of my reservations.
It might be worth a look0 -

If you haven't done so already, go to the trip advisor web site and have a look for vegas hotels suitable for kids.
Enjoy your stay!!!!!!!!0 -

I have checked all hotels we are going to stay in...but it will be our 4th trip to vegas so we pretty much know where to stay there.
We have got two seperate periods in vegas this time and I have booked the alladin for 5 nights at $59 per night via a deal i found on https://www.lasvegastalk.com and I still have 3 nights left to book, I am hoping for another cheap deal prob up the north end of strip.
The two hotels I cancelled after reading about them on trip advisor were the best western bryce canyon and the best western anaheim hills (LA)0 -
Thanks for the advice on Best Western hotels Photome. I looked at the Bryce one but decided to stop in Springdale instead - better reviews.
i've stopped in the Luxor in LV before - we are stopping there again this summer. We enjoyed the place although its at the end of the strip.0 -
If you do route 1 from LA to San fran, MAKE SURE YOU DRIVE FROM SAN FRAN TO LA!!!!!
That way you’re driving on the outside of the road therefore having a better experience of the amazing views, I did the drive in 2003 - self drive,
Also little tip I hired the intermediate car then asked about upgrades in the hire place. The guy took me outside to "see what was available" then said to me if I wanted he could take $50 and I could have the superior plus motor approx alot more $$$ in the hire place, I said $35, he said $40 I said Cadillac please!!
enjoy your trip. expedia.co.uk was also good for trips (grand canyon) & travelocity.co.uk for flights - they watch them for you & email when they drop below a certain level.
hope this helps0
