Don't suppose encouraging you to buy them is very DFW, but if it means you'll make your lunch instead of buying it at work, I suppose they'll pay for themselves in no time! ;)

I've only even made cheese toasties in them :)
  • I looked on ebay and I think you can get the expensive ones for £2.48 or at least a similar version

  • I just wanted to say Good Luck with sorting your debts out.
I have just read through all the posts and it really is heartwarming (god that sounds sooooo old and Im only 30, but it seems to fit) that all the people on here genuinely want to help. I wish I had found this site a few years ago when I was in a very similar situation to what you are now. You already sound brighter and much more positive than when you wrote your first post and it is really good to see the difference in your attitude I am sure that if you can keep it up you will be on your way to success very soon.
Good Luck and keep us up to date.

  • Thanks very much!

I do feel a million times better after coming on here - its amazing what a bit of encouragement can do!

Well this morning I have spent my time recreating my geeky spreadsheets I used to have and I must say - I'm very proud! I've even got it to split it down in to categories and show what % of my cash is going in what areas as I go along!!!!

I plan to expand it further once I've got a better idea what is going where and allocate an amount for each section and get it to automatically subtract that as well as running totals and totals for categories (god I'm such a geek but I love it!!)

With that in mind I'm going to start a proper diary now with a more positive subject header!

  • Gosh I wish I was a geek too with spreadsheets thats fab!! You will be so in control its not funny with that kind of whizz technology. I need to do some training in spreadsheets not for money but for some work issues I have that are stressing me out. Oh well!

Good luck with the new diary, maybe you could put a link to it on this thread so we can follow you please?

I am not totally au fait with Excel but I'm pretty good with the Microsoft format for programs and having an extensive knowledge of MS Word I find somethings can transfer over and its just knowing where to look for information really.

Hi, just wanted to add that you do seem much brighter than you were two days ago. Its really nice to know that even tho everyone has their own troubles, they find time to pass on what advice and help they can.

  • Thanks! I feel great, honestly! I never thought I'd say that!

I have no money still, but I have more control over my life with my geeky little spreadsheets and I'm loving feeling back in control. I think I now realise what my down fall is with money. I need to be this geeky little control freak when it comes to my finances or I just can't be trusted.

Top and bottom of it I need to ensure I have time to keep a tab on my finances and a bit more time for me - I'm a bit of a workaholic if truth be told but working more hours has made me poorer in the long run (if that makes sense??).

ive been doing spreadsheets too and I hate them!. Have a book for Excel with a cd rom that has never even been opened, did a course years ago and a refresher course at work recently and still cant get my head round them :(
but my computer has the microsoft one which is very similar so i just add and subtract things and it still says a minus, oh well on a plus side the nice man in the bank cancelled out £140 worth of bank charges for me today
