I'm back again - this time I'm terrified

  • Hey guys thanks so much for posting - sorry I am a little late getting back on but my life is hectic at the moment - 2 jobs so as you can imagine I'm pushed for time!

I have just moved jobs 7 weeks ago and unfortunately had to take a pay cut (though I now only work a 5 min drive away as opposed to 30 miles away) in my old job I was being bullied and humiliated on virtually a daily basis so I'm sure that had an impact to be honest. My new job isn't going great - its my first role in a managerial position and the team are really giving me a hard time and are making me feel very unwelcome but I'm determined I'm not going to let this job ruin my financial future - they aren't worth it.

But to be honest I think my money problems stem much further back and I can't pinpoint it but I really feel that me feeling like I'm out of control is definitely causing major problems - I just can't figure out why I'm so unsettled.

I teach fitness classes in the evening and weekend and i swear to god this is keeping me sane. I can't get enough of doing it (though my body can!) and it really makes me happy - just a shame it can't support me full time yet!

I am in the process of doing my SOA - I have some balances back ready to put on but its the minimum payment and APR stuff which is taking longer to find. I am in a bit of a pickle now with some arrears on some accounts so its hard to figure out what my minimum payments are.

I was going to call the companies and try and arrange some sort of payment plan at something I can afford without the arrears clocking up further as each month passes - do you think that is worth doing?

Must say I'm very glad for the weekend - its been a hell of a week!

    Hi

The APR on your accountds is on the bill. Just put up the minimum payment for the most recent month.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Does anybody have an excel spreadsheet that will do budgets etc. the MSE one won't work on my phone as its got macros or something which it doesn't like in the formatting. I just wondered if there was something simpler that I could use that would help me keep on track whilst I'm out and about (which is most of the time!)

    Hi

Not aware of one but you could try SS basic list of things to put in an SOA

  • Ok this is what the SOA states so far. There are a few bits on it which I couldn't check (in particular my loans (they're not in my name and after calling my mum she doesn't know where the paperwork is)and the details of some minimum payments) but its a start at least.

Now I know what your going to say:

No car maintenance costs included - quite simply as you can see I can't afford it.

Nothing allowed for food - again I don't have any money for it and what I'm doing is teaching every class I can and trying to get as many people through the door as I can so that I can buy a little food but we don't have much.

No money allocated for presents - again no cash to put aside. and the same for clothing.

The council tax bit is right - my OH is at uni and i'm registered as living with my parents so no council tax for us.

But other than that - what do you make of it? I haven't put my class money in as it varies in amounts each month with it depending on how many people attend class and if the gyms cancel any classes etc. Not sure what to do about this.

You're missing the bottom of your SOA, the important total bits. Can you edit the post and re-paste it?

  • Have to say I'm losing count what number time this is I've returned, I'm cross with myself that its come to this yet again.

Well I've made things even worse - debt up to my eyeballs and I'm trying desperately to cover my tracks so that everyone isn't disappointed in me - thankfully my partner knows how bad things are but my family doesn't. They'd kill me. I was warned last time that enough is enough but as per usual I just don't learn.

I dont have enough money to pay my bills and I'm working must be about 50+ hours a weeks trying to make ends meet. I'm exhausted, I'm miserable and I'm not getting anywhere with my debt. I don't even have enough money per month to buy food for myself so debts are having to go unpaid just so I can eat. I don't know what to do.

I used to be quite organised with my finances - I always knew my bank balance and I had a plan for what money went where and I managed perfectly fine but for the last few years I have just slowly gotten more and more out of control - no matter what I try I just can't control my finances which strikes me as bizarre considering I used to manage it no problem.

I'm just not sure what to do but I guess I felt like posting something on here would make a start at least.

    Sorry for rambling on!

    Hey, it's ok :o

We all have those times that expenditure doesn't equal incoming money.

I haven't read all the posts, just wanted to say that. Will come back to you.
