Holiday spoiled with FairFx delays

Hi
Anyone have problems with the topping-up your FairFx card when abroad?
FairFx claims 2 hours to make transferred funds available, but my experience when abroad recently was over 28 hours!! My email account showed it had been released after I had left the overseas country and on my way back to the UK.
The top-up was done when I was abroad after I had worked out how much I needed for the rest of my long weekend break. This was using a pre-registered debit card from a High Street bank with internet security and getting immediate confirmation that the transaction had been approved.
In the end I had to use the same High Street card to draw cash out, so not only incurring the higher costs on the currency transfer but I now have Euros on the FairFx card that are no longer needed. For the forseable future the only way of using that cash is by paying for shop purchases in the UK thereby incurring double Fx charges.
I am not a happy bunny. I have asked FairFx to explain why there was a delay.
Anyone have similar problems or knows why such delays can occur with FairFx?
