Electric Cooker point query

I had a cooker "type" socket that was at least 6mm, so you may be OK, you will need to make certain before you connect up but, hopefully your maintenance officer will be able to tell you, they might pay for it to be upgraded if necessary, otherwise, as others have said, its back to the shop!0

Your previous post could have been misconstrued by some as meaning that. I knew what you meant but we wouldn't want someone else getting the wrong idea and replacing a power socket supplied with 2.5mm2 cable with a cooker point. From a safety point of view I think it's worth highlighting the requirement for the thicker cable though.latecomer wrote:Nobody suggested converting a standard socket into a cooker point.
I had a brief look for a freestanding cooker running off 13amps i had a feeling i'd heard of their existence somewhere but other than dual fuel cookers it appears to be like looking for rocking horse do-do. From the theoretical point of view it does seem a tall order though.
Anyway let's hope Angel gets her monies worth for her rent out of her housing association!
