Prudential insurance, what are they like

Has anyone had to claim with prudential before? My renewal is coming up and they have always given us a good price for the cover but wanted to know if they are good at paying up. Do they give you vouchers or a cheque.
Is there anyone else you would recommend?

for car or home insurance?
