Objecting to Planning Application

planning_officer wrote: »Just to clarify, the lease and planning permission are two entirely different things - someone could get permission under one of these but neither overides the other - in order for someone to be able to put up a dish they will need to get planning permission AND get permission from the leaseholder. Therefore, even if this person is granted planning permission, without the consent of the leaseholder, it means absolutely nothing!
Thanks! He's obviously been given some bad advice by someone, as the Directors/management company won't be changing their mind.
I haven't objected since this is the case anyway - if I hadn't had to reveal my address to him I would have but I'm worried about nasty things through the letterbox or the buzzer to my flat going off at all times of the night!0 -
Thank goodness, at first I thought it was something serious. Some think blocks of flats are far unsightlier than satellite dishes. Much as I hate the dross served up on Sky, I hope he gets permission.sarah_elton wrote: »He's now applied for planning permission to put up a satellite dish!
blocks of flats covered in satellite dishes are so unsightly.Been away for a while.0 -
My block looks like this:

Also, we have a communal dish through which he can get Sky.0 -
It doesn't matter what your flat looks like. I agree that satellite dishes on the front of any building look awful. Sadly most installers go for the easiest option, which is to slap it on the front of the building, as close as possible to the tv.
If you already have a dish (albeit communal) on the roof, perhaps he could discuss with the freeholders installing his own polish dish on the roof.
Poor man is a along way from home, & almost certainly missing proper east european !!!!!!. Sky is no substitute

Yeah, the late night stuff on Movies4Men is just weak.
I do understand why he'd want to receive Polish TV. Nonetheless, if it was that important to him he should have checked before he rented the flat. It's always been a clause in the leasehold and the landlord would have known.
If the landlord told him it wouldn't be a problem then that's another issue.0 -
Now that is one ugly block of flats, but probably a palace compared to Poland.Been away for a while.0
