I think you need to be more specific.
have you just got one pc that you want to wirelessly conect to the router?0 -
A network key is a passphrase setup on the router to encrypt the wireless connection. This prevents people you don't want accessing your internet connection and accessing your computer if it isn't well secured.
You can obtain your network key from the router's configuration interface, which can usually be accessed by opening a browser window and typing 192.168.1.1 You must do this on a PC that is fully setup and can access the router and internet. You can't do it on the PC you are trying to install the adapter on.
Alternatively, if you can't access it, you may be able to perform a hard reset on the router which should clear out the settings. It depends whether there is a default which will be reset. However, this will cause all of your custom settings to be cleared, and may mess up the wireless connection for any other computers.0 -

If you have used the defaults and thus set up WEP, the "magic number" is, as Browntoa says, on a sticky label on the underside of the Voyager 2091 router!

I installed the voyager last night and did not need any numbers.
Just one question how does it find the other pc? the instructions are on disc from BT which only told me to install it on the first computer surely I need something connected to the other computer?0 -
yes. you need a wireless USb adapter like this

or a card in the PC like this

I also want to add the x-box to the system so would I need two usb adaptors?
You have saved me so much time and stress so thanks for that,0 -
I've got the feeling it needs a cat5 crossover cable like this

If the Xbox is the same as PS2 network wise, then to gat it working wirelessly you will need a wireless bridge and a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable.
Here is an example from amazon.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007SQERI/qid=1136814730/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/203-7056495-8811127
If you just want to connect it up with a wire then a standard Ethernet RJ45 should do. I don't think you want a crossover as stated in the last post as they are for networking ad-hoc between 2 computers.0
