Games won't load & laptop running slow

I joined Mecca Bingo about 1mth ago (its a Quidco thing :-))

About 9 days ago, I found that I couldn't get the bingo games to load. I assumed that the site was having technical problems and forgot about it. I tried again last night but I still couldn't get on. I can log onto the site and play scratch cards etc, but the bingo will not launch

Having e.mailed Mecca they said to update Java/Flash and delete browsing history. The software has already been updated recently and I told them so. Their solution therefore is to restore the system to when I could play. This seems quite drastic to me?? However, I have noticed that since updating everything, my laptop is now sooooo slow. Maybe the system restore will put things back to where they were and get my laptop working normally? BTW I have scanned everything and nothing was found.

Any ideas anyone??

Trying the restore won't do any harm, if it doesn't help you can always reverse it !

    Thanks for your reply.

How easy is it to do a restore? and how would I reverse it? I take it that it would delete all of my updates and I would need to do them again?? Sorry to sound so dim :-(

Id suggest scanning your drives for 'nasties'
    Download MALWAREBYTES
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&!!!!!button
    UPDATE and QUICK SCAN
Should it find anything then post the log hereAFTER youve deleted them all

I would suggest AGAINST the restore option as if the computer IS infected, some trojans use those restore files and it will only serve to make things worse.
So scan for nasties, THEN restore if it hasnt helped any :)

I have already scanned with MALWAREBYTES and it didn't find anything.

I don't have much confidence with pc's and it makes me feel that I have done something wrong to cause the problem  Could it be any of the updates that I've downloaded? Why did the game launch a few weeks ago but not anymore?

How easy is it to restore and how do I reverse it? Just when I think that I'm happy with my new laptop, there's another problem :-(

If youve downloaded updates, thats certainly not YOUR fault. I download ALL updates (As theyre normally for security purposes)
Which update are you talking of?

    Uninstall flash with this ~
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157

    Download CCLEANER
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Run the top 2 scans (backup the registry when it asks)
then at the top it gives the version number
Under that is the SERVICE PACK
Can you please give me the service pack and the info undernath? (CPU, RAM and GRAPHICS CARD)

    reinstall the lastest flash ~
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

    Reboot and try again
    If still no joy then
    download HIJACK THIS
    http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html
SCAN and post the log here (So we can see what your computers doing)

    I've updated:

    Avast
    Comodo
    Malwarebytes
    Spybot
    Adobe reader
Adobe Flash (although I didn't uninstall first, just clicked on download the latest version)
Java (followed advice on here and uninstalled first)
    Vista updates automatically

Do you want me to uninstall and reinstall Flash as I didn't do it properly? I thought the latest version would replace the older version. I only did this about 3 days ago to see if it would solve my problem.

its certainly worth a try anyways surely?

I see you have comodo running
Turn off DEFENSE mode and see how that goes

If it didnt ask to backup, you must not have run the 2nd (regisrty) cleaner
Anyways, your problems sorted so its all good :)

I did run the registry cleaner 'scan for issues' but it didn't ask me to back anything up. Is this a problem? I don't want to worry that I might have messed something else up :-(
