To answer your question: No, I have never tried to obtain goods by deception.
You've said yourself mmlh that you understand that you only get the free gift if you brought any of the big sets, therefore I don't quite get why you think you're entitled to something you haven't qualified for.
Yeah it sucks that you couldn't get what you wanted, but that's no excuse to knowingly attempt fraud.
