Ryanair - wrong passport expiry date

I booked two flights to Venice recently. There was no luggage to check-in so I was able to print the boarding cards myself. To my horror I noticed that I had iNput one of the passport dates, incorrectly stating that it expired in 2018 instead of 2014. Nobody at either airport batted an eyelid and I noted that the portion with the expiry date on it was actually handed back to me by the gate staff.
I hope this helps anyone who encounters a similar problem.
Also, I didn't notice anyone checking the weight or size restrictions of the cabin baggage, despite me having bought suitcases to the correct parameters and ensuring that I was well within the 10kg weight limit.

This happened to me, I had made a booking on behalf of a relative who doesn't have a computer and realised I had miskeyed in his passport expiry date and no one noticed. I have since made two mistakes (careless I know) with dates of birth and this hasn't been noticed either.0

I just found this thread when I did a search before submitting the same question. All our passports expire this year but I accidentally put 09 for my daughter too and just noticed it doesn't expire until 2010. Does everyone think this might still be ok given all the tightening up recently - I'm flying with Ryanair. I tried to go on the Ryanair site to change it but couldn't see any way to do it.0

It really depends on how hard the gate staff scrutinise the documents. I've always found they've done it quite thoroughly with mine (they're obviously cross-referencing something, but I don't know if it's everything), but I always check it's right before pressing print so there's never a problem. Some people have suggested going to the ticket desk and explaining you've made a mistake as they have been known to re-issue boarding cards; personally I think it's likely they would if it's a smaller airport (e.g. East Mids/Liverpool) but not if it's a big base such as Stansted, where they're super-keen on following the letter of the rules.0

I think they check that the name matches more than anything. As I said in post number 1, I input the wrong passport expiry date on the boarding card and it wasn't noticed on the outbound or return flight.0
