Washin Machine about to take off !!!!

Have got an Indesit WG1130T washing machine approx 7 yrs old. Last couple of washes ,when it gets to the spin cycle , it sounds as if it is taking off from Luton Airport!! Have got an engineer arranged but worried in case this will involve purchasing another one ......... When I took the washing out there was an odd smell , not burning , just odd . Any ideas ????? Gets used loads and loads and loads by the way

To be frank, Indesit is about the worst make possible for repairs - many won't touch it.
However, 7 years hard labour is excellent so its probably time to replace it. Either use the cheapest method (Indesit and others under £200) and scrap it when it goes wrong, or use the Rolls Royce method and buy a Miele for 3 times as much but with a 10 year guarantee.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
