On a more serious note, how about food packaging or pictures of such? might be interesting to see how things have changed

I've started preparing one for a friend who's having a baby any day now, other things I'm including are:

Magazines - to show fashion/clothes/cars/tv programmes
Local newspaper - with property pages
National newspapers - both tabloid and broadsheet
Round-up of the year supplements - many newspapers produce them at the end of the year
Postcards from their home town
