Land of Leather sofa, seat padding flattened

I ordered a 3 seater, 2 seater and 1 armchair last Oct: from LOL.
They promised delivery by Xmas and of course it didn't arrive untill new year.
While cleaning it recently I noticed the padding on one of the seats has flattened.
I contacted them in early Oct: and they sent a guy that agreed that it wasn't right and said he'd seen it before on same models.
he asked if it was the most used seat and I said 'no, not really'.
I explained we are 2 adults ay home. 1 working FT and the other been out of country for 3 or more months of this year.
LOL have sent me a 'report' saying that in this guys opinion that its 'fair wear & tear'???????????
How can it be? Its less than a year old and hardly been sat on!
Hardly 'Fit for purpose'.
The report also states 'The customer denies this is the most used seat in the house, but by looking at it the amount of creases in the leather its easy to see it is', yet when he arrived he asked me which one I was having problems with, so it wasn't obvious to him then
I feel as if he said all the right things to me yet the report is completly oppposite to that.
I'm contacting TS tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar problem with LOL and how did you deal with it?
Thanks in advance
LL

Hi
Is the seat in question the most used / a "tv" seat ?
If so then it may well be down to wear and tear..
You can contest the report and have an independent one carried out yourself, not that expensive and if it differs to LOL's report you have grounds to demand a repair etc
Worth looking in to if you dont get anywhere with them£80 in boots vouchers from pigsback.com - Balance: 820pp£15 in paypal from Lightspeed + £30 Halfords Vouchers£36.20 earned from onepoll so far£40 Tesco Vouchers - Valued Opinions:beer:0 -
Well, only you know whether or not it's fair wear and tear, and I would certainly take note of the anomaly between the things he said to you and the things he wrote on his report (difficult to prove but important to note!).
Personally, I would never buy anything from Land of Leather. I used to have a sideline doing deliveries of sofas for them and I know how badly they take care of the suites and how little they care about their customers. I've done collections from depots where staff throw them from the wagons and have a good laugh in the process (not Land of Leather staff in this instance, but people they trust with their goods).
Sorry to digress, I wish you the best of luck with Trading Standards.0 -

Just a side note, but are you aware of this story about Land of Leather Sofas....

No I didn't see or hear of this story, but interestingly enough as I clicked on to read the link you posted, I got a call back from my Dr. about a terrible sore inflamed rash I have developed under my arms in the last few weeks.
I mentioned to him I am half way through watching it and he has asked me to bring in the information so he can do tests to find out if there is a link, because so far he isn't sure what I have.
So thank you very much for the useful information.
Hopefully it could just be a coincidence, but I've been unwell all year and now have this awful rash that burns like hell and creams are not healing.
The sofas I have look the same as the one on the opening video, but have checked my invoice and the model number doesn't match any on the WatchDog list.
Thanks again

What I would do is tip the sofa over on its back and carefully remove the cloth liner on the bottom and look for the fungicide packet that is stapled to the frame somewhere.
It looks like that list of affected sofas keep getting amended everyday.0 -
