Accidently bought 2 of the same item!

Something's wrong with either my PC or my eyesight!
I've been bidding on an item for a friend and somehow I've bought 2 of the same items.
Both went for exactly the same price with the same postage. I've no idea how I managed to do this
What would you do? I don't want 2 of them.
Help!!!!:o

Fay was suggesting how you might have managed to buy two items. Are both items from the same seller or are they from different sellers?
All you can really do is grovel a bit to one of the sellers and ask them to release you from your obligation to pay and offer to pay them their listing fees to cover their losses. However some of us sellers are tired old cynics who have heard every excuse in the book and may well just go through the full NPB dispute on you anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I would email the seller as soon as possible and explain the situation. If I was them I would be a bit annoyed but if you do a mutual you can avoid them having to pay fees on your 2nd purchase. (I think)
But don't leave it until it's too late and they have posted it.

I've accidentally done this before - I just paid up and then put the item on ebay again, and made a profit! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

Hi, thanks for your replies, the items were from 2 different sellers, I really don't know how it happened as I was only bidding on 1 at a time. I don't think the new "my ebay" page format is helping me either!
I have emailed seller 2 and asked him to offer to his 2nd bidder (there were 9 others)and I would pay the difference back to him, he said he would do this but he wasn't very nice about it. I've been an ebay member since 2001, this is the 1st mistake I've made and I don't see what else I can do but apologise profusely and make up any losses
Anyway Norbertsmum, i've been thinking like you, unless the item is faulty then I shouldn't have any problems reselling, I've been bidding up to my friends max for a week or 2 and until have always been outbid till now.
I'm sure i'll sort it - worse things happen:p0
