I'm planning a trip to Malaysia nest year,
I see Air Asia are now operating and have flights around £200 each way.
I assume they are not ABTA covered ???ATOL cover.
How should I ensure all is safe and well with the booking / ? insurance.
Anyone know about Air Asia?

at £200 each way i would book with another airline such as Qatar / KLM.
Book with a credit card card and have insurance before you book.0 -
I have flown with Air Asia many times and found them to be really good. Flights were to and from Bangkok, Vietnam, Cambodia - about 6 in total.
Staff always pleasant, flights on time.
In this current climate it's a risk booking with anyone really.****************************0 -
The airline is Air Asia X, part of the Air Asia Group. Look for the thread that's been here for a while on KL flights for £99 for more info.
Probably forget about the £99 each way flights which is where they started as I think most will have gone by now, but if you stay near enough to Stansted and want to go to KL then look at what's still on offer for when you want to go and compare price and service to what else is available. They are apparently big enough and reliable enough but of course there's a bit of a risk with any new venture like this.0 -
£200 each way then you have to pay for for luggage, meals, etc
It turns into a" ryanair" scenario and you end up paying more than you would
with a good quality airline.
If you are lucky enough to get it for around £350 rt inc the extras fair enough
but I would not pay anything more to fly with what is the ryanair of Asia.0
