I suppose best way would check the ferry first ...see if its cheaper to book foot only then hire a cheap car through the avis thread or with car.
Then if its looking possible after that work on a cheap place to stay near by such as a formula 1 or something cheap and cheerful like that...then if its still looking possible add your day pass's
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

You could of course go to Butlins.
The kids would definately enjoy it and its well within your budget ( just over £200 for a standard 2 bedroom apartment).
There is lots of entertainment on for the kids ( and the big kids - adults) during this week and most of it is free. I have been on the Feb half term week before and had an excellent time.

    Hi

Don't know whether you want to go somewhere far from home or not - and don't know how often you take the kids to London, but considering that a lot of the museums are cheap then this will significantly reduce your spend on entertainment, particulalry if coupled with family travel card.

Ah, but isn't London accomodation expensive I hear you say - well, not necessarily! The Salvation Army training college in SE5 hires out rooms and flats which sleep four which will come in well under your proposed budget. If you need any more info then pm me. The college is straight opposite Denmark Hill mainline station, which is 5 min into Victoria.
You do not need to be a member of the SA to book to stay here - but you will have to adhere to no alcohol/tobacco on the site, in keeping with SA principles.
  • Checkout the pontins website they had some really good prices for half term. I could take my 6 for £115!!! Not sure what it like there but worth a shot at that price!

I see DLP doing deals at the moment. Kids go free until 30th March. Check it out, it may be in your budget for a short break.
    keep smiling,
