hi for some reason when i turned on my laptop this morning the mouse touch pad isnt working?? i ve not done anything, loked at some settings but it seems ok, i ve plugged the external mouse and it is fine, but why on earth has my touchpad stop working? any ideas anyone???

unfortunatelly no luck - im getting worried that my touchpad has broke - but thats a bit weird as i turned my laptop as normal and there was no probs, and when turned it on next day it was not working how can it be?0

try updating the drivers

Is the touch pad locked ? You can lock them on the Acers, forgot the combination now to unlock it0

One of the F keys along the top of the keyboard has a 'hand touching the touchpad' icon. Hold Fn (bottom left of the keyboard) and press that F key. It should function again.0

I have an Acer 5920 and the same happened to me after I had been "tweaking" the start up programs to speed up boot time.
I had disabled the Synaptics Pointing Device and after I enabled it again the touchpad worked again as normal.0 -
ok all... massive thx... yes all it was was the Fn and f7 - i turned my laptop off and musthave pressed wrong buttons... all working well now...
yes love my laptop is preety gd, best out of all my previous laptops... thanks a lot!! 0
