Any image software can invert an image from pos to neg - it's a basic image command - I'm very surprised the scanner didn't come with any, obviously the best is Photoshop (or if you are on a budget, Photoshop Elements for home users), but there are many freebies, such as Paint.net and The GIMP for starters, or use Photoshop free online at Photoshop Express.0

Didi you install any software that came with the scanner - you should have a scanning screen (eg identifies the scanner type and will have a 'click to scan' button). If so, it should have a drop-down to set the type of film (Kodak, Fuji etc) for negatives, or slides. It's possible that there could be a separate program to set the scanner profile.0

I think it is reliant on the drivers that came with the scanner assuming it is capable of scanning negative you need a template that holds the negative in the scanner. I used to do this all time with my Epson scanner. I used paintshop pro to import from a scanner and then it loads the driver software for the scanner up and select how you want it imported ie negative then its says acquiring0

Strangest thing though, the pictures I've scanned open in ArcSoft and fireworks, but not in My Pictures (Microsoft), don't suppose you've any ideas?0
