How safe is it to use Egg Money Manager, i used to use it as it was conveniant to be able to see all my accounts with just one log in, but was concerned as to the possibilaty of how easy it would be for this information to get into the wrong hands, discretion being the better part of valour i unscribed from the service. john 1966.

Make sure you use a decent password. But yes if someone knows you, they can get all the information and all they then have to do is get the password.
But saying that, I haven't heard of anyone losing money through it etc.etc. and no-one has done it to me in the 2/3 years I've been with Egg.0 -
I find it invaluable when you've got loads of accounts. Your passwords stay encrypted on your PC, so they'd need to get hold of your Egg passwords and your PC. I wouldn't install on a work or public computer, apart from that its safe.
There's more a risk of you getting locked out of your various accounts if you forget passwords etc. (!)0 -
For years, I have just popped in and out of my Egg accounts, and not really looked at other facilities they have.
But today, thanks to you, I had a look at Money Manager, and immediately signed up to it.
What a brilliant facility! I wish I had known about it sooner. Still, better late than never. :j
Only disappointment, I couldn't add Principality BS, or Post Office (instant saver)
Good old Egg again though. :T0 -
Email them and say you bank with them but can't add them yet. They will put it on their list of things. :T0

When I finished adding all my accounts, I sent them an internal message, asking if they could add them.
and I thanked them for lovely Money Manager :T
I wish all organisations were as helpful as Egg.
They phoned me one Saturday morning, to answer a query. Good guys.
Everything crossed that they don't go.0 -
The Egg Money Manager is probably the most useful online tool I have found - I think I have a form of bank account OCD and seem to check my balance a couple of times a day, so its so much easier doing it this way rather than having to log into them all separately!0

I remember the days when I had 1 savings account, 1 ISA and 1 current account, then I found this site and became obsessed with interest rates. In the last year Ive lost count of the number of bank accounts Ive opened and closed and the credit cards for different occasions! And youve got to keep up to date with all of them...0

This site has a lot to answer for.
Things were so much simpler pre mse.0 -
When things get easy you tend to use them a lot more!
Internet for example, remember the days that you would only go on after 6pm because of cheap dialup? Now we're on at 10am! I can't even remember what I used to do at 4/5pm after school without the internet (I can't believe I watched the crap on BBC and ITV)0
