german company makes it. and its delicious xx

BFG costs a bit to make at home as you will need the liqour to flavour the gateua (Cant spell that to save my self) x

This looks like an 'echte Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte' - as made by my (German born) mother. It should be a towering cake with a thin sweet pastry base and then two sponge levels with sour cherries and cream filling with some Kirsch (cherry liquer) for extra flavouring.

Last time she made one was January this year and I have a picture of it somewhere - awesome taste and awesome look totally unlike the British idea of it.

Delia's recipe gets my vote - it is really delicious. I made it as a traditional round cake and not the swiss roll and it was lovely.
