Anyone use Google Chrome as browser?

I've been recommended to use this instead of IE7 - I'm finding it realllly slow -should I persist with it? What are the supposed benefits-any opinions sought.

Thanks

In answer to your question.... probably no.

Do yourself a favor and use the portable version of FireFox......
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Well personally I use IE7 (default), Firefox and Opera. I've tried Apple Safari for Windows and Google Chrome and uninstalled both of those after trying them.

Chrome is still a beta version - not really intended to be used as an everyday main browser yet.

Try Firefox, I don't trust IE, too many bugs and vulnerabilities, and it can be slow a bit like Windoze Firefox ain't perfect but what is?

Strangely I've never seen a trojan get picked up get through IE7, but I have with Firefox two times. I can understand the paranoia if it was IE6 but personally I think it's unneeded for IE7. And I've been a user of Firefox for about 4/5 years.

  • if you're looking for an alternative browser i'd try safari.

it's lightning fast, and if you use it in conjunction with bfilter (for adblocking) and a decent firewall you don't really need to worry about anything else.

  • I find Opera much more responsive than Firefox and uses less memory. Safari on Windows is an abomonation but overall I still prefer IE.

Try them out, they're all free..

then make up your own mind.
  • Yes of course I do used all IE 6 then FF for tabs, installed Vista and stayed with IE7 + tabs, now Google Chrome because it FAST and has tabs, I like beta stuff someone has too try out these things so I can tell you folks, minor niggles included. Safari screen rendering very poor. Never tried Opera
