I've phoned about 10 local stores this morning and some of them didn't even know about the offer and the ones that did said they hadn't had that particular camera in stock for 12 months or so!!!
I've just phoned Boots CS and the muppet on the phone,after placing me on hold for 10 mins,said the flyer had the incorrect date and it should have said valid from the 6th of December onwards.I really think she was fobbing me off cos she didn't have a clue.It took me four attempts to tell her it was an A340!
She also told me that no stores had them (Strange how the poster above got told different information to me!!!)

Anyone else had success or spoke to somebody in Boots CS that actually knows what they're talking about?? (Would love to hear if any stores in nw england have them - Cheshire area)

HI Folks.. just checked flyer and NickA ... looks like they don't have a clue.

Flyer clearly dates 'Offers available from 6th January 2006'... and in small print at bottom All Promotional Offers available until 20th January'. NO printing error there!

As I recal yesterday when I bought mine it did scan at the promtional price. Chester store assistant said they were awaiting their delivery Perhaps they would say that. Maybe worth emailing Boots - at Boots.com - I just have and will post reply here when it comes ...

Havng phoned Boots Customer services (& a few stores) it seems that this particular camera discount was applied just b4 xmas & therefore just about all stores have sold out.

Those who create the promotional flyers must be a little out of touch with what's actually happening in-store!!
