NI wheelchair user problems

need some advice, i suffer from MD and diabetes, and need new wheelchair but northern ireland dont do an nhs voucher scheme, due to meds i am over the 19stone for lightweight chair so do nhs one available. cant use electric one in my house and want to keep my mobility as long as poss anyhow, which is why need lightweight. bought my last one years ago, when in england, cant afford another so dont know what to do. anybody got any advice on what i could do. seems crazy cant get what you need to keep mobile. sad but true. our own gp here says wheelchair services here a joke and boy was he right. welcome to NI craziness. look forward to reading any posts.

I'm sure if you had OT and Physio assessment you could be provided with a wider wheelchair. I have several patients who are over 19stone and have wide but lightweight wheelchairs, all supplied on the NHS.0

you might be entitled to direct payments which would include equipment.
(i am assuming the same arrangement applies in NI)
