18866 - Nightmare trying to get a refund for duplicate payment

Hi
Has anyone else found it impossible getting money back from 18866?
I cancelled the service a couple of months back and paid them the balance o/s even though they hadn't issued a final invoice. They then did issue the invoice and took the payment a second time in error.
I've sent them countless emails since asking for the duplicate payment to be refunded and their best offer so far was for me to email them my bank details. Not a very safe thing to do, so I asked instead for them to issue a Debit Card refund (as they'd originally taken payment by Debit Card).
They then said that it wasn't possible to issue a refund and suggested I rejoin 18866 to use up the credit on the a/c.
Just to point out two things - the amount concerned is only a few quid and I'm now with their sister company 1899. To me this is not necessarily about the money, but about a company thinking it doesn't have to refund your money when it's taken it twice in error. That really bugs me big time.
Any suggestions anyone?

If you paid by a VISA debit card, then request your bank to do a "chargeback"0
